The accommodation at Macalla Farm is comfortable and relaxing with beautiful views overlooking Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick. When courses are not running the accommodation is available for those on a personal retreat, solitary retreat or skill session, for self-catering / guesthouse rental and venue hire.
Two buildings make up our accommodation; one an ecologically renovated cottage built in 1895 and a renovated outbuilding aka the extension. The old cottage has easy to use, friendly compost toilets.
The island setting makes for a unique getaway without the noise of traffic, dazzle of street lights and the rush of modern living. There are many walking options, including dramatic cliffs, coves, moorland and more. Anna’s Cafe is open at the weekends in the summer season – we best not mention the chocolate cake.
We offer a single room supplement of €25 euros per night. If a single room is not available it is usually possible for us to book a room at the local B&B which is also €25 night. The B&B is about 15mins by bicycle (we can lend you a bike), or 25 minute walk from the centre.
For those on a tight budget it is usually possible to camp at the centre and avail of a €20 per night discount.
All bed linen is provided except for towels, which you will need to bring with you.

Both houses are strictly non-smoking

There is no wifi, television, microwave or hair dryer in either house

Children and pets are welcome

The cottages are a mile and a half from the harbour, main beach and pub, and two miles from the shop

We are very conscious of our ecological footprint and hope that those participating on our retreats join us in bringing awareness to the ordinary aspects of living. We ask that guests be sparing with the use of electricity and conserve water.
